Cultural Encounters with Cantonese Food

Last night I was truly initiated into the culture. I went out to dinner in Kowloon City at a Cantonese restaurant. Here is the list of what I ate in order of course (and I ate with chop sticks). I was determined to eat whatever was put in front of me:

Chinese beer
Very strong tea from a dish the size of a finger bowl
Tongue
Pickled cabbage
goose
Goose intestines (looked like strips of leather)
fish
pork
tofu
oysters in rice soup
squash deep fat fried with sugar coating
tea again
